The Jewish people in 1st century Palestine had completely screwed up the sacrificial system.  It was supposed to be about the heart.  I repent so I give God something that matters to me to show my contrition.  They had lost the heart and turned the sacrificial system into a transaction…buy a dove, be forgiven.  Jesus actually understands God’s heart and knows that this is never what He intended.  #makingwhips
